General Questions

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes. We work mainly by appointment to make sure we have enough time to create your design and give you our full attention. Walk-ins may be available on some days—feel free to call or message us to check.

Book your appointment

How do I book?

You can book by contacting us through the website booking form, or alternatively please contact your preferred artist via their social media links. A small deposit is usually required to secure your appointment, which will be deducted from the final cost of your tattoo.

Book your appointment

How much will my tattoo cost?

Prices vary depending on the size, style, and detail of your design. We’ll give you a quote once we’ve discussed your idea. Each artist has their own minimum charge, please discuss this when booking.

Do tattoos hurt?

Yes, tattoos can be uncomfortable, but the level of pain depends on the placement and your personal tolerance. Most people find the process manageable, and we’ll do our best to keep you comfortable throughout.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Get a good night’s sleep.
  • Eat a meal beforehand.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Avoid alcohol and drugs for at least 24 hours before.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.

What aftercare do you recommend?

We’ll explain everything in detail after your session. Generally:

  • Keep the tattoo clean and dry.
  • Use the aftercare product we provide/recommend.
  • Avoid soaking, swimming, and direct sun until healed.
  • Don’t pick or scratch your tattoo.

Can I get tattooed if I’m under 18?

No. By UK law, you must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo, even with parental consent. We require valid photo ID for proof of age.

Can I bring a friend?

You’re welcome to bring one friend for support, but space is limited, so please let us know in advance. For health and safety reasons, children and pets are not allowed in the studio.

What if I need to reschedule?

Please give us at least 48 hours notice. Deposits may be lost if you cancel or reschedule with too little notice.

Do you do cover-ups or reworks?

Yes. We’re experienced with cover-ups and reworks. Bring us a clear photo of your existing tattoo and we’ll discuss the best options.

Are you licensed and hygienic?

Absolutely. Our studio is fully licensed and we follow strict hygiene standards, using single-use sterile needles and medical-grade equipment.

Studio Policies

Do you take photos of tattoos for your portfolio/social media?

Yes, we often take photos of finished tattoos for our portfolio and social media. However, your comfort and privacy are our top priority. When you arrive, you’ll complete a studio consent form, which includes a section on photography. You can choose whether you’d like to give permission for us to use photos of your tattoo, or you can decline. If you decline, we’ll respect your choice and no images will be shared.

Can I be tattooed if I’ve been drinking or using drugs?

No. We will not tattoo anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It affects your body’s ability to heal, thins the blood (which makes tattooing unsafe), and can impair your judgment when making permanent decisions. If you arrive under the influence, your appointment will be cancelled and your deposit will be lost.

What is your policy on behaviour towards artists?

We have zero tolerance for abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour towards our artists or staff. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in the studio. If you behave inappropriately, you will be asked to leave immediately and may be permanently refused service.

Health & Medical FAQs

Can I get a tattoo if I am undergoing cancer treatment?

No. We cannot tattoo anyone currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy. These treatments weaken your immune system and increase the risk of infection and complications.

How long should I wait after cancer treatment before getting a tattoo?

This depends on your treatment and recovery. As a general rule, you should wait until your immune system is fully recovered and your doctor has confirmed it’s safe. This is often at least 6–12 months after treatment, but it can vary. Always speak with your healthcare provider before booking a tattoo.

Can you tattoo over scars from cancer surgery?

Yes, in some cases—but the scar must be fully healed, usually at least 12–18 months old. Tattooing over scar tissue can be more painful and may heal differently. We’ll discuss your options and what results you can realistically expect.

Do you offer nipple/areola tattoos after breast cancer surgery?

Some studios and artists specialise in areola restoration or decorative tattoos after mastectomy. If this is something you’re interested in, let us know—we can advise whether it’s something we can offer or recommend a specialist.

Do I need medical permission?

Yes. If you’ve had cancer or are in remission, we may ask for written confirmation from your doctor to make sure tattooing is safe for you.

Blood Conditions & Medications

Can I get a tattoo if I have a blood condition (e.g., haemophilia, clotting disorders)?

No. For your safety, we cannot tattoo anyone with clotting disorders such as haemophilia, as tattooing carries a high risk of prolonged bleeding and complications.

What if I’m on blood-thinning medication (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel)?

We cannot tattoo anyone currently taking prescription blood-thinning medication, as it increases bleeding during the procedure and can affect healing.

What about diabetes?

Yes, if your diabetes is well controlled, you can usually get tattooed. Poorly controlled diabetes increases infection risks and slows healing. We recommend checking with your GP or specialist first.

Can I donate blood after getting a tattoo?

Yes, but you must wait at least 4 months (NHS Blood & Transplant guideline) after receiving a tattoo before donating blood.

Should I tell you about any medication I’m on?

Absolutely. It’s essential you let us know about any medication or health conditions before your appointment. Some medications and conditions may affect your safety, healing, or whether we can tattoo you at all.

Additional FAQs

Do you do custom designs?

Yes! Most of our work is custom. Bring your ideas, references, or even a rough sketch, and we’ll work with you to create something unique.

Can I see the design before the appointment?

Yes. We’ll usually share the design with you on the day of your appointment and make any small adjustments if needed. For larger or more complex tattoos, we may send previews in advance.

How long will my tattoo take?

That depends on the size, style, and level of detail. Small tattoos may take under an hour, while larger pieces or sleeves may require multiple sessions.

Do you tattoo all body areas?

Most areas can be tattooed, but some placements may fade faster or be more painful (such as fingers, ribs, or feet). We’ll advise you honestly if your chosen spot isn’t ideal.

Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. For your safety and your baby’s, we do not tattoo anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can I use numbing cream?

If you’d like to use numbing cream, let us know in advance. Some creams can affect the skin and the tattooing process, so we’ll recommend safe options.

Do you take card payments?

Yes, we accept cash, card and bank transfer. Please check before your appointment which payment methods are currently available.

What styles do you specialise in?

We cover a variety of styles, including [black & grey, fine line, traditional, realism, etc.]. If you’re after something specific, let us know—we’ll match you with the right artist.

Can you touch up my tattoo if it fades?

Yes. A free touch-up is usually included within 3 months of your tattoo, provided you’ve followed the aftercare properly.

What if I’m sick on the day of my appointment?

Please let us know as soon as possible. We can reschedule you, but deposits may be lost if notice is too short.
